Temporary labor jobs may be created subject to an Ohio Disaster National Emergency Grant approved by the Department of Labor. Belmont County is part of this multi-county statewide-grant. The creation of these jobs may or may not develop and the number of jobs created is based on grant approval and funding received. For the Belmont County part of the grant, applicants must be Belmont County residents. Duties: manual labor to remove debris from creeks and streams, medium to heavy lifting, use of hand tools, chain saw operation, work in inclement weather). Job duration is 6 months. Hired applicants must meet eligibility requirements as a dislocated worker or long-term unemployed and pass drug testing, physicals and other potential screenings.
